PTR Palanivel Rajan, a known statesman from TamilNadu whose father PT Rajan was a Chief Minister of the state in 1930. He is from DMK() Party and was one of the senior leader.
He died due to Heart Attack on the way to Madurai on May 20th, 2006 - after exactly a week assuming duty as the Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment in the 2006 DMK government formed in TamilNadu. Also he was the Speaker of TamilNadu Legislative Assembly in 1996 - 2001 DMK govenrment.
